Blog II: Summer A

For your second blog, you are to make a video or do a write up on a video you would make.  You have complete freedom to make any video you want as long as it is appropriate for class.  (Try to keep things at a PG-13 level with a trace of R.)  Do not forget to remember your audience.

As for length, you should have at least two minutes recorded.  Once you do the video, please list the different readers of your video (Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary, along with the political, ethical, economic, and physical contexts—if any.

Those of you not making a video, you have to write two paragraphs.  The first paragraph explains the video you are making.  The second paragraph should discuss the different readers and PEPE.

Have some fun with this project.  Remember, it is possible to turn this into a money-making opportunity.
Best of luck.

Blog I: Summer-A

Our privacy dwindles as we become more advanced.  For your first blog assignment, log into the website Stalk.Info.   The site allows you to enter your name.  Once you enter your name, the site will create an identity on Google.  This identity acts as honey pot for mouse clicks.  After you setup your name, wait a few days to see if get any hits.  The site will provide you with a report of IP addresses that checked your name.

For the second part of the blog, please answer these questions in at least two paragraphs.
(1)Did you anyone Google your name?  If so, name the locations of  your stalkers.

(2)Do you think the ability to track people is good or bad?  For example, Smartphones allow you to track people within your family.  Does this show a lack of trust in our society?

(3)Ultimately, what do you think this has to do with technical writing?  Think about the different readers I discussed in class (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary).

This is your first post.  You can do it.  Please feel free to ask any questions.  This is due 5/18/2014.
