  This blog anticipates the resume and cover letter assignment due in October.  For this blog, think about your future after college.  What profession are hoping to invest in for your future? What are your salary expectations and are there enough opportunities to keep you feeling fulfilled going to work each day.   So, for this first blog, answer these questions with a minimum of two detailed paragraphs.

1.  Discuss your career aspirations after college (Now, nothing is written in stone; you may end up doing something different than what your write here; however, it's a good idea to start thinking about your potential now)


2.  What education or certifications will you need for this job?  How many years of school do you need?


3.  What are your salary expectations for this career?  Will it be enough to satisfy your needs?

Fall 2020: Blog I

 

You have just bought a product from an online vendor.   Upon receiving the product, you notice a defect.  You decide to look over the vendor’s return policy.  Much to your chagrin, it appears to be missing.  So, you decide to send the vendor an email for a refund.   Please follow the instructions below for your first 2020 prompt:

Answer these three questions:

1.  Please provide a brief narrative for this product.  What did you buy and what was wrong with it?

2.  Please name your product’s context of use.

3.  Who would be the primary, secondary, and tertiary reader of this email?

Below, write a brief email explaining the defect and asking for a resolution. (Remember, politeness counts).

For this blog, pick a website that you visit often and do the following:

2.  Apply PEPE to the website (We will do an example in class).

3.  Suggest any improvements to your chosen website.

At the end of your two paragraphs, please do a Works Cited entry for your website.

Fall: Blog Post I

For this blog, you are to write a short complaint letter about a faulty product.  The product is up to you.  I will be looking for the following things in this blog-letter:

1.  Two addresses written in the format discussed in class (Do not forget examples were provided in the Week I files in Canvas).

2.  A formal greeting ending with a colon.

3.  Two fully developed paragraphs where you discuss the problem and demand some recompense.

4.  A closing with your name appearing below.
